His Divine Grace
A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada
Srila Prabhupada is considered the greatest ambassador of Vedic culture in the modern age. In the year 1965, at the advanced age of 69, Srila Prabhupada travelled to the United States of America in a cargo ship to spread the divine message of Lord Sri Krishna on the order of his Spiritual Master. After a year, he registered the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in a storefront in Manhattan, New York. He successfully introduced thousands of westerners to the path of self-realization explained in Vedic scriptures like Bhagavad-gita. In the next 11 years, he went on to establish over 100 Krishna temples, farm communities and authored more than 60 volumes of Vedic literature. He introduced the ‘Hare Krishna’ mantra to the world and also travelled the globe 14 times.
In the 1980s, Madhu Pandit Dasa found his life’s true purpose when he first came across a book by Srila Prabhupada at IIT Bombay. Moved by the message of Srila Prabhupada, he felt a deep connection with the book and read it cover to cover. This was the turning point of his life. He was overjoyed as Srila Prabhupada’s book answered all his questions. He chose to dedicate his life to the mission of Srila Prabhupada – propagating Krishna Consciousness all over the world.
